Lithology and Thickness
Garnet and garnet-free amphibolites and crystalline schists of quartz-biotite-garnet and quartz-mica-feldspar composition with layers (?) of mica quartzites and marbles. It includes picrites (komatiites), serpentinized dolerites and basalts, transformed into plagioclase-actinolite-amphibole schists (165). Thickness 400-450m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Schematic stratigraphic column indicates this is the oldest unit.
Upper contact
Schematic stratigraphic column indicates the upper contact as Urusay Fm with erosion
Regional extent
Consists of separate blocks and plates within the serpentinite mélange in the northern part of the Sultanuizdag Range, exposed over a distance of 35 km.
